Hopefully you will all have fun meeting singles and try out this online dating thing...Remember that we are the largest free online dating service, so you will never have to pay a dime to meet your soulmate.I ask the forum participants to define the term "serial dater"Is that someone that dates many - has no intention of ever getting serious, caught up in the euphoric emotions of always something new?
I guess I need both terms defined Any insight would be appreciated.
From my point of view - the reason for women dating then moving on is all over the map. Rather, I would consider it someone who is courteous enought that they don't try to date or even attempt to communicate an attitude of commitment to more than one person at a time.....however through the course of that dating they determine you are not a good match, they have the honesty and integrity to end it (hopefully gracrfully), move on, and eventually will be able to be friendly with the person.
It is kinda like serial monogamy only there is not marriage. Now, all that is assuming we're not talking about 3-5 dates with the goal of thoroughly messing up the sheets (with a side-effect on someone's head with meaningless ILY's)....we are talking about efforts from a couple of weeks to several months. In my opinion, serial daters are those people who just like the thrill of always meeting someone new -- maybe the thrill of the chase.
Apparently online dating sites are chock full of these peeps.
I wouldn't know; I was too busy seeking these guys out in real life.
I like to refer to it as The Dark Period Called My Twenties.1. He's Clooney-esque, but likely not as good looking.
The longest relationship he's had is two years, and then he breaks it off using some lame excuse that wouldn't hold up at the post office.__6.
After a few dates, he'll start talking about how effed up he is.__And how he thinks he may be depressed or confused. "Poor guy, I can help." I like to think of this as preparing for his grand exit.
It's really just another way of saying it's not you, it's me. Note: I can't tell if writing this post has made me feel more angry or stupid.
