Brown's rule stated that players may not have non-professional relationship with each other, coaches, managers, trainers or any others affiliated with the team.
The two players filed a complaint against Brown citing that they were kicked off the team because of their sexual orientation, which violates Title IX, which bans discrimination based on sex.
"The important thing to note is that the rule was not particular to women's basketball players only," said Garry Rosenfield, Brown's agent.
Brown said the university is focusing on the allegations instead of the fact that she was advised and given the OK to enforce the rule.
Brown said she had other disciplinary problems with the two players.
The two players are still in school and still have their scholarships honored.
